To many, Jazz remains a genre famous for its liberating experience through its feature of improvisation. Improvisation is an art of emotion, it is a synthesis of the artist’s experiences; it is a composition in the present. However, improvisation is not only a production of Jazz music but also many other musical cultures of the world, one of which is Arabic music.
This website will analyze the musical links of melodic development and harmonic development between the musical cultures of Modal Jazz represented by Miles Davis’s So What and Arabic Music by a recording of the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s Morning Adhan.
